You are an athlete…you work out…it’s what you do! ⁣

⁣That may be at the competitive level or at the recreational level, but either way, you love what you do! You may be in the gym, or at the pool, or on the track, or on the road. You may be at the box, or in the ring, or on the ice, or on the court. Wherever you spend your time, pregnancy is going to alter things. Labor and delivery are going to alter things.⁣

⁣That does not mean that your fitness life will never be the same again! I honestly believe that the new you can be EVEN BETTER!! ⁣

⁣What I want to do is deep dive into what happens to your body, and what you can expect as you come back to your sport or your workouts! ⁣

⁣IMPORTANT NEWS…the 6 week postpartum all clear does not address your readiness to return to athletics. In fact, it really does not address your readiness for very much other than being a new mom. Your core and your pelvic floor muscles are incredibly vulnerable at this 6 week mark and your needs are unique to you! This is where I come in! ⁣

⁣A woman’s body goes through a significant transformation with pregnancy. ⁣

❤️ widening of the pelvis⁣

❤️ significant stress on the pelvic floor⁣

❤️ stress on the low back musculature through postural changes⁣

❤️ BIG changes in the core⁣

❤️ resting heart rate increases as does the volume of blood circulating in your body⁣

⁣These are all IMPORTANT changes but they do change our bodies in a way that a simple return to our workouts is not just simple! ⁣

⁣I have been this woman! The desire to return to my athletics and workouts postpartum was real!! I wanted to run. I wanted to get back to the weights! This is one of the reasons why I LOVE being a pelvic Physio and I love working with my pre and postpartum mommas!! ⁣

⁣Come work with me and learn the things that I wish that I knew pre and postpartum as well as my program for a safe and healthy labor and delivery AND a safe and healthy return to your fitness happy place! ⁣

⁣As always, message me with questions!! Happy weekend!⁣
