Yes physiotherapists work with you to restore your physical health…but did you know that your mental health is just as important when you are healing! And while we often separate the two, they really go hand in hand. Research shows that doing any form of exercise impacts the release and uptake of feel-good chemicals or endorphins in the brain. Research also shows that when we are struggling with our mental health, we are less inclined to care for our physical state.
We are experiencing stressful times! Some of us have never endured the changes that COVID has brought with it! And now, more than ever, we need to take care of both! We need to keep our bodies healthy and strong and we need to focus on the preservation of our mental health in order to come out on the other side of this virus.
The Government of Ontario is currently funding Beacon Digital Therapy (iCBT), free of charge, to support Ontarians through stress and mental well-being concerns during COVID-19. “Guided digital therapy with BEACON is highly personalized to what you’re feeling and who you are, as a whole person. Through secure digital messaging, and tailored readings and activities, you’ll work 1-to-1 with a registered therapist. Your BEACON therapist is focused on your improvement and will support you all along the way”.
